Join us as we discuss How to pivot and turn your film project into a podcast.
Podcasting has taken off. With an increase in podcasting deals and the rise of podcast platforms more filmmakers are turning to audio storytelling as a medium to launch their stories. In this event hosted in partnership with MiFILM, we get to talk to executives and creators in the podcasting space to understand what podcasting networks are looking for and how filmmakers can break-in while leveraging the power of audio storytelling.
This is event is part of The Gotham's Expanding Communities series. Expanding Communities is a program dedicated to providing a space for Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) creators (film, tv and audio) and organizations to host discussions that expand the awareness of topics significant to underrepresented voices. This program also provides an opportunity for BIPOC creators and organizations to reach new audiences as well as to enhance their skill sets and professional networks.
MiFilm is a global community, increasing equity and inclusion for POC and people with disabilities in film and entertainment. We are not just filmmakers, we are social entrepreneurs designing innovative ways to use film to protect and shape our cultures against the threat of mass media. We believe that media is a dominant language that criticizes and defines society. Therefore, as people of color and people with disabilities, we demand members of our society to increase media literacy and communication competency by participating in our accelerator labs, and fostering collaboration with studios that encourage creative equity.
