Registration For This Event Has Ended

Learn about Microbudget Producing from the producers of WE'RE ALL GOING TO THE WORLD'S FAIR.

Overview

We’re All Going to the World’s Fair, written and directed by Jane Schoenbrun, premiered at Sundance in 2021 and proceeded to collect two Gotham Award nominations. The film follows Anna Cobb in a much-discussed feature debut as a teenage girl who becomes immersed in an online role-playing game.

We're excited to welcome We’re All Going to the World’s Fair producers Sarah Winshall and Carlos Zozaya to join us for a Case Study about their experience working on the film, and in particular, about the challenges and opportunities of making this film as a microbudget feature.

These returning Gotham Alumni will begin with an informal presentation and conversation exploring how the budget shaped the project, from financing and casting to production and beyond. The panelists will also discuss the ways in which their budget impacted their sales and distribution strategy before being picked up by Utopia and HBO Max. Finally, there will be time for a Q&A.
