Join The Gotham on Thursday, May 5 for our Industry Insiders: Career Sustainability in TV & Film panel as we speak with industry insiders who will share their experiences as long-time producers, as well as challenges and success they faced transitioning between both TV and film in an evolving industry.
Attendees will walk away with insight into the skills needed to work with creative teams and move their projects, forward in TV and film, whether they are a creator, writer, or producer, while setting themselves up for success and career sustainability.
Plus, members of The Gotham who attend will also have the opportunity to meet with each panelist in small-group meetings following the panel.
Panelists include:
- Blair Breard has guided groundbreaking concepts into award-winning television for 25+ years, including SCENES FROM A MARRIAGE, LOUIE, BASKETS, BETTER THINGS and ONE MISSISSIPPI.
- Kishori Rajan is a filmmaker based in NYC known who recently joined Tessa Thompson as her producing partner for their new company Viva Maude, which has a first-look deal with HBO and HBO Max.
- Ryan Cunningham is a queer writer/director and Emmy and Peabody award-winning producer who recently launched the development company Running Woman.

Blair Breard
has guided groundbreaking concepts into award-winning television for 25+ years, including SCENES FROM A MARRIAGE, LOUIE, BASKETS, BETTER THINGS and ONE MISSISSIPPI. Breard has been nominated for industry awards multiple times: six Primetime Emmys; five Directors Guild Awards; two Producers Guild Awards; two American Film Institute Awards; three Peabodys; Two Gotham Awards. She has produced for HBO, FX, Netflix, Fox Searchlight, Paramount, and developed with Showtime, FX, Hulu and others.
Ryan Cunningham
RYAN ELIZABETH CUNNINGHAM (she/her) is a queer writer/director and Emmy and Peabody award-winning producer who recently launched the development company Running Woman with the goal of telling stories that haven’t been heard before. She represented the TV projects THE FUGITIVE GAME (2018), TRANSMANIA (2019) and MARY (2020) in the IFP (now The Gotham) Project Forum. Ryan is very passionate about promoting equality, women’s issues, LGBTQ+ stories, and neurodiversity in her work.
She's EP/Director on the standup special ILANA GLAZER: THE PLANET IS BURNING (Amazon), the docuseries EXPECTING AMY (HBO Max). Select TV producer credits include BROAD CITY and INSIDE AMY SCHUMER (Comedy Central), SEARCH PARTY and THE LAST O.G. (TBS); LOUIE (FX); STRANGERS (Facebook); THE SHIVERING TRUTH (Adult Swim); HORACE AND PETE (Hulu); THE ELECTRIC COMPANY (PBS), as well as several prominent stand-up specials for Netflix and HBO, including Executive Producing AMY SCHUMER GROWING for Netflix.
Film producing credits include Rachel Israel's feature KEEP THE CHANGE, starring the first leading cast of actors on the autism spectrum and winner of Best Narrative Feature at Tribeca Film Festival 2017; Dan Powell & Liz Rohrbaugh’s BECKS, winner of the LA Film Festival 2017; and the ill-fated I LOVE YOU, DADDY, directed by Louis C.K., which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.
She has also co-owned the NYC-based post house Running Man for the last decade. She lives in Brooklyn with her 10-year-old daughter who is on the autism spectrum and likes to build large art installations in various places around their apartment. Ryan is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design and co-chair of the RISD Fund, as well as working as an adjunct professor for the film department.
Kishori Rajan
Kishori Rajan is a filmmaker based out of NYC. She recently joined Tessa Thompson as her producing partner for their new company Viva Maude, which has a first look deal with HBO and HBO Max; Viva Maude now has over twenty television and feature projects in development. Rajan is also the Executive Producer of HBO’s Random Acts of Flyness, which received a Peabody Award for "breaking the mold of what TV can be" and is currently producing its second season. She also recently directed an episode of the upcoming Disney+ series Growing Up. Kishori received the 2019 Cinereach Producer’s Award in recognition of her feature producing work was a 2017 Cannes Producers Fellow. Film producing credits include The Short History of the Long Road starring Sabrina Carpenter and Danny Trejo, American Fable (IFC Films) and The Price (Samuel Goldwyn Films). Unscripted producing work includes Hulu's Eater's Guide to the World and TOPIC studios Best Walk. She has contributed writing to Filmmaker Magazine and has taught producing at NYU. Rajan is also an elected steering committee member for the newly organized Producer's Union.
