The Truth About Independent Film Revenue a FILMMAKER Subscriber Conversation
Registration For This Event Has Ended

Tune into Naomi McDougall-Jones and Liz Manashil on the reality of revenue for independently produced films outside of industry structures.

Overview

Join distribution strategists Naomi McDougall-Jones and Liz Manashil for a conversation expanding upon their article—"Producer Data: The Numbers Don't Lie"—published in the latest issue of Filmmaker Magazine about the reality of independent film revenue. Filmmaker subscribers and members of The Gotham community are invited to tune into this candid conversation on Tuesday, April 11 from 6-7:30 PM ET.

For what they call "free-range films," i.e. independent films produced outside of industry structures, what monies can be expected from distribution methods ranging from conventional sales to a distributor to DIY methods? Using a statistical approach that gathered data from over 100 independent films, the authors reached surprising conclusions about what budget levels and levels of cast produced the best results.
